Who we are

A design-led studio grounded in real-world application

WTICH is a New Zealand–based design-led studio working across residential, interior, and property-focused projects. Our work sits between design intent and delivery, supporting homeowners, builders, and industry partners with considered design thinking and clear technical documentation.

We focus on work that can actually be built. This means understanding how design decisions affect cost, sequencing, fabrication, and long-term performance, not just how something looks on screen.

What we do

We provide design and documentation services that support projects from early concept through to production and build.

Our work includes:

  • Residential and interior design, including spatial planning and joinery-led interiors

  • CAD and technical documentation, supporting both client projects and industry partners

  • Home plans that can be purchased and adapted for individual sites

  • Specification and colour consulting, helping steer decisions so projects continue moving during build

Alongside this, we regularly support joinery manufacturers, interior fit-out specialists, builders, and architects with drafting, documentation, and design development support, operating as a collaborative partner rather than a competitor.

How we work

WTICH operates with a structured, collaborative approach designed to reduce friction and support clear decision-making.

We often work alongside builders, architects, and consultants, providing design input and documentation where it adds the most value. Clear scopes, defined deliverables, and practical communication are central to how we operate.

We are not a licensed architectural or construction practice, and we are upfront about where our role begins and ends. This clarity ensures the right professionals are involved at the right stages and allows projects to progress smoothly from design through to build.

Industry Collaboration & CAD Expertise

WTICH works closely with industry partners across the joinery and interior fit-out sectors, providing detailed CAD documentation and technical support for complex projects.

We utilise Microvellum, AutoCad and Vortex as part of our workflow and collaborate with joinery manufacturers, interior fit-out specialists, and design teams to bring projects to life — both within New Zealand and internationally.

Our role often sits between design intent and fabrication, ensuring drawings are accurate, coordinated, and suitable for production. We focus on documentation that supports efficient manufacture and clear communication between design teams, builders, and fabricators, helping projects move confidently from approval into production.

Design Informed by Property Experience

In addition to client work, WTICH is actively involved in its own property projects. This experience informs our design approach, grounding decisions in real-world constraints such as build sequencing, cost awareness, and long-term asset performance.

Rather than selling property, we focus on how thoughtful design can improve outcomes — from liveability and durability through to overall value. Selected property projects will be shared as they progress.

Studio and Location

WTICH is based in New Zealand and works with clients locally and internationally through a clear, remote-friendly process. Our studio model allows us to collaborate with trusted partners, scale involvement appropriately, and tailor our services to suit each project.

Founder

WTICH was founded by Ash Jackson, a designer with extensive experience across residential design, interior documentation, and joinery-led projects. With a background working closely alongside builders, manufacturers, and industry partners, Ash established the studio to bridge the gap between design intent and real-world delivery.

The studio has since evolved into a collaborative, design-led practice, working with a wider network of partners while maintaining a consistent standard of judgement, clarity, and technical rigour across all work.

Ash continues to guide the studio’s design direction and approach, ensuring projects are grounded, buildable, and thoughtfully resolved.
